My family and I were going to spend the summer at Uncle James’s. We were thrilled to have him back in the States, but his parents made him stay with us for a month while he decided where to plant roots. Meanwhile, his uncle James sold his supplier, and so he was on the lookout for a new beginning. He heard about this incredible lake house for sale while he was staying with us. It’s sad to see him go, but the lake house is in a strange state. On the plus side, this meant that my buddy and I now had a cool place to spend the summer, and it was a lake house. Even though I had seen pictures of the lake house, I knew that actually being there would be an entirely different experience. Before my friend and I left, Uncle James told my dad that he was going to hire a general supplier to do some replacements. They were experts at updating older homes with brand new bedrooms, bathrooms, and other amenities. The first supplier was a general contractor who did a fantastic job, and the second was a roofing contractor. After having his roof inspected, Uncle Mike was advised by his roofing supplier to have it fixed. Since the roof’s bricks are still in great shape, this is a much more cost-effective option than tearing them off. Mom was on the fence about going because she doesn’t particularly enjoy being near large bodies of water.
