I travel a ton for work. I normally spend at least three weeks out of every month away from home. It really affects the relationships in my life, but I have made these sacrifices because I love my career. I do marketing for a hotel company and I get to travel all over the world to each hotel location. I love that I get to see so many cool locations, I know that not a lot of people get to do that. However, I really hate paying for an apartment each month when I am never home and even more I hate paying my energy bill. I am only home one week of the month and my energy bill is normally so high because I leave my HVAC system on while I am gone so I don’t have to come home to a stuffy apartment. I called a local HVAC company to see if they had any ideas about how I could save some money. They suggested I install a smart thermostat that I can control from my phone. That means I can turn off my HVAC system while I am away traveling and turn it back on from my smartphone when I am coming back home. This is the most brilliant invention I have ever heard of and I can’t wait to see the benefits of my investment on my next energy bill. I think this will really be a lifesaver when I am traveling and I am really looking forward to saving money.
