In the area where I live, the housing market is extremely competitive.
I’m in one of the fastest growing cities in the nation, and we are experiencing massive growth every single year.
That being said, you can imagine that housing is not very cheap. It’s very difficult to find a rental for under $1,200 a month. It’s also very difficult to find a home in a good area for less than 250,000. I can tell you, neither of those figures fits into my current living situation. I desperately needed to buy my own home, but I was finding the real estate market to be very difficult. If you don’t buy a house within the first day that it’s on the market, you aren’t going to get the house. That’s why I jumped as fast as I could when my small dream house came up.The house that everything that I wanted, including an awesome sunroom on the back of the home. I was in love with this naturally yet heated and ventilated outdoor space. I really wanted to work out there everyday, where there was fresh air and plenty of sunshine. What I didn’t realize before I made my bid on the house, however, was that the sunroom was not well sealed or suited with air temperature control equipment. When I got into the space, I immediately started making changes. I sealed up the doors and windows to the sunroom as tightly as I could. I added a lot of insulation to the ceiling, and called out my local HVAC technician for advice on the air temperature situation. He recommended that I install a mini split ductless heating and cooling device which would allow me to utilize the sunroom in the summer or winter seasons. These days, I’m living in the best house in the city. Best of all, I know I’ll make a pretty penny when I decide to move.
