Being a professional roofer is one of the hardest jobs you have, but maybe it isn’t as sexy & glamorous as house-flipping, or deep-sea fishing, however the work is intense & non-stop, & all the people are simply not capable of doing it; I have a lot of friends who went to school, or took dead-end jobs at pop shops or offices.

I make a lot more cash than they do, however sometimes I envy them, then they get to spend their mornings in cool, comfortable AC while I am out in the blistering tepid sun doing roof repair & upgradement, and a normal day of roofing starts an hour before the sun comes up.

It is unsafe to do roof repair in the dark, however my crew assembles the tools & supplies & gets to the worksite so that my friend and I can begin working at first light, but sporadically it can be life threatening to work with roofing in the blazing sun of high noon, so my roofers work early in the afternoon & late in the night, taking a long lunch chop in the middle. I rarely eat lunch, because I’m so tired from the afternoon of roof repair that I sit in the backseat of my motorcar & take a nap until it’s time to start again! Roofing is not a job for the weak of heart or frail of constitution. I guess that my mornings are numbered here, & within another decade I will need to stop roofing. I don’t want to die exerting myself in the tepid sun, so maybe I should become a roofing corporation myself, & hire other people to do the hard labor.
