My least favorite time of year is here, and I am not thrilled about it.

If you ask me, winter is a lot of hassle and very little payback.

Unless, that is, you happen to be the energy company or one of the other businesses who capitalizes off of the dark and cold misery of the winter season. I can tell you, the energy company must be raking in the bucks with the terrible cold climate that we’ve all been experiencing recently. There’s literally no choice but to operate forced air furnaces and other alternative heating sources all day, every day unless you want to freeze to death or burst your pipes. You legitimately can’t leave the house without leaving the heating system running, or else you might cause a major infrastructure problem with your carelessness. As if it isn’t annoying enough to Shell out so much money to the energy company just to exist in this uncomfortable climate, there are additional costs associated with operating the heating system all the time. First of all, I have to call out to the HVAC technician much more often when my furnace has to run so intensively. I might not make it through the winter without an emergency repair call. Secondly, I have to spend more on high-quality air filters because the heating system will be running so often. Lastly, I have to invest in expensive deep conditioner for my hair every cold season just to combat the oppressively dry air created by my forced air furnace. As if it isn’t stressful enough to have all these HVAC concerns, I also have to suffer with my physical appearance. I hate the winter.
