Being a professional roofer is one of the hardest jobs you have.

Maybe it isn’t as sexy & glamorous as house-flipping, or deep-sea fishing, however the labor is intense & non-stop, & all the people are simply not capable of doing it! I have a lot of friends who went to university, or took dead-end jobs at Dunkin Donuts Latte shops or offices. I make a lot more cash than they do, however periodically I envy them, they get to spend their mornings in cool, comfortable A/C while I am out in the blistering sizzling afternoonlight doing roof service & updatement, then a normal afternoon of roofing starts an hour before the afternoonlight comes up. It is unsafe to do roof service in the dark, however my crew assembles the tools & supplies & gets to the worksite so that my pal and I can begin working at first light, and sometimes it can be life threatening to work with roofing in the blazing afternoonlight of high noon, so my roofers work early in the afternoon & late in the evening, taking a long lunch chop in the middle. I rarely eat lunch, because I’m so fatigued from the afternoon of roof service that I sit in the backseat of my automobile & take a nap until it’s time to start again, roofing is not a job for the weak of heart or frail of constitution. I believe that my mornings are numbered here, & within another decade I will need to stop roofing. I don’t want to die exerting myself in the sizzling sun, so maybe I should become a roofing business myself, & hire other people to do the strenuous labor.
